FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “FREE Agree Disagree Debate Speaking Game Icebreaker Editable Teens Adults”

Need a fun debate/icebreaker activity for teens? Check out our FREE "AGREE DISAGREE" customizable speaking game you'll get your studying talking right away. I have used this activity with teens and adults in online/ face2face classes. It is a great icebreaker or debate activity if you are working on 'expressing opinions' and 'agreeing and disagreeing'.

What's included?

• 1 Editable PPT:
• 24 slides including:
• Instructions/ Variations
• 20 DEBATE TOPICS

TEACHER NOTES:

Use this game as a warm-up or an ice-breaker.

The level of the students should be at least B1. (EFL / ESL / ELL)

VARIATIONS:

•Small Groups: Get students in small groups (3-5). Have them

read the statements on the slide and discuss whether they agree

or disagree. Depending on their English level, encourage the

use of phrases to state their opinion and arguments to back up

their decision. You can also pre-teach some of this vocabulary.

•Moving around the classroom: Select three areas in the classroom

and assign them one response (I agree, I’m not sure (middle), I disagree).

Read a statement and ask students to stand on the side according

to their opinion. You can also add more lines as in the original activity.

This activity was inspired by the Spectrum videos by Jubilee.

The Algonquin People were among the earliest Native Americans to have contact with the European settlers.

When you purchase this resource, you will download a PDF that includes a link to the Letter S Alphabet Activity. The link will prompt you to save an activity into your Seesaw Activity Library where you will be able to edit it if you choose, add your own voice to the instructions, and then assign it to your students.

This activity begins with an interactive virtual classroom. On this slide, students can watch an instructional animated video about the letter S and then click around the classroom to link to the nine other interactive slides. The various activities focus on letter identification, letter sounds, initial sounds, and letter formation. Two slides invite students to use the camera feature of Seesaw in a "show and tell" manner.
