To play this literacy center game, students pick a pumpkin card and read it. The words included are largely CVC (see below) with a few challenge words mixed in, and are all Halloween themed. All words can be sounded out.
CVC Words included: rat, bat, hat, cat, web, pot, leg, mix, fog
Challenge words included: skull, slug, Jack
After reading their word card, students find the matching picture on the game board and cover it up with your choice of token. Candy corn and seasonal mini erasers add to the Halloween fun! Keep playing until the entire board is filled.
Print game boards and cards, one set per person. Cut apart cards. This is an individual game. It can be played in partners as a collaborative game, but there are no winners or losers. Very easy prep for an interactive game!
