Stuck in a jam and need a quick lesson to fill the time? Jam Lessons are your new go-to lessons for time-fillers and emergency supplemental activities. Jam lessons are lessons built around a single thought-provoking image. They can be pulled out at a moment’s notice and done without planning; all you’ll need is the lesson plan and the picture. It’s perfect for those moments when you finish a class a bit earlier than you had planned or if you need to fill your lessons with a little something extra. This particular lesson is built around the picture of a collection of puppets, and it includes an orientation task, vocabulary activity, discussion starters, and a grammar activity that will get your students completing sentences starts about the second conditional. It also includes an activity for personalizing the lesson for learners and an imaginative writing assignment that will challenge them to write about what would happen if puppets were to come alive. At the end, there is even an extension activity that can take this quick lesson even further.
