I started teaching just a few months shy of my twentieth birthday in El Paso, Texas. I have been teaching in some shape or fashion ever since. Even now, after all these years, I am homeschooling my youngest grandson.
My wonderful husband Jerry and I live near our two daughters and three grandsons, and we spend many enjoyable hours with them. We recently moved from Texas to Colorado to be closer to them, and although I miss El Paso, and I am still adjusting to the cold weather, we love it here. Jerry is originally from Green Bay, so all these white flakes falling from the sky are nothing new to him.
I taught English and creative writing to high school students and adults in public schools in Texas for over three decades. At one point in my long career, I was honored to be the Secondary Teacher of the Year for Ysleta Independent School District, and one of the five finalists for Region XIX Texas Teacher of the Year.
Grammar is my specialty, and I have spent years writing workbooks and resources that make learning grammar easy and fun for students to learn and easy for teachers to use.
