FREE SCIENCE LESSON - “Laboratory Safety Agreement”

by UtahRoots
6th - 12th Grade

This is a lab safety agreement (contract) to be signed by students before they are given permission to participate in lab activities. As a science (or CTE) teacher, you should take all reasonable precautions to protect yourself from legal liability for accidents or injuries incurred as a part of the typical activities in secondary school laboratory classes or in summer school or after school programs.

By using an agreement such as this one, you also reduce student behavior problems and have documentation that the student agreed to the rules, and knew the consequences of misbehavior before beginning to participate in the activities of your class.

Student Engagement and Participation Response Cards Response cards are the best thing that ever happened to classroom management. Seriously, you'll get 100% student engagement using them. And they're a fabulous way to do formative assessment with ZERO prep (once you've printed and laminated a set).
