Kindergarten - 1st Grade
These CVC stories focus on helping emergent readers to develop confidence and fluency, and also check comprehension. Children can use simple sight word knowledge and blending skills to enjoy these short stories.
CVC reading passages are well suited to shared reading, guided reading and independent work, depending on the skill level of individual readers and intent of the lesson. The passages also work well as homework.
A few sight words are included in each of the passages.
There are four text-based questions for each of the passages. Each question has multiple-choice answers to encourage young readers to think about what they have read.
Each page also has a read and draw box.
Each page is included in 2 formats: color and black and white.
