This resource contains two group activities and eight word problems aligned to CCSS 4.OA.3, 4.OA.4, and 4.NF.2.

Group Activities:

1. Plastic Easter eggs will contain two fractions to be compared with =, < or >. Copy the sheets found in this product for each group. Place the fractions to be compared in an egg. Place the relation symbols in other eggs. The group members will decide which symbol correctly compares the fractions and will tape that symbol between the fractions on an answer sheet. 4.NF.2

2. Find factor pairs and identify prime and composite numbers. The activity begins with an explanation of rectangular arrays. It continues with students making as many rectangular arrays as possible with a given number of objects. If only one array can be made the number is prime and has one factor pair. If more than one rectangular array can be made the number is composite. Students are to complete a table giving all factor pairs of certain numbers and then identify the number as prime or composite. The objects provided are Easter/Spring figures. There are five pages in color and five pages in black/white. 4.OA.4

Eight Word Problems: 4.OA.3

There are multi-step word problems which involve interpreting remainders and representing the problem as an equation with a variable.
These problems may be used on separate days as six of the problems are on individual pages.

Teacher notes and detailed answer keys are provided.
