Page 4-6: 3 Handouts that introduce prefixes, suffixes and roots. They also provide space for students to practice by writing their own examples.
Pages 7-8: Prefix Worksheets: “Read each sentence and find the word with the prefix. Underline the word and then write its definition.”
Pages 9: Prefixes Worksheets: Guess the Definition: “After reading each definition, write a word with a prefix to match it. Use one of the following prefixes: il-, un-, mid-, mis-, sub-”
Page 10: Same as page 9, but with a word bank.
Pages 11 -12: Suffix Worksheets: “Read each sentence and find the word with the suffix. Underline the word and then write its definition.”
Pages 13: Suffixes Worksheets: Guess the Definition: "After reading each definition, write a word with a suffix to match it. Use one of the following suffixes: -ist, -ment, -ible, -er, less, -ful."
Page 14: Same as page 13, but with a word bank.
Page 15: Root Words Worksheet: "Read the words below. Find the common root and then write its definition."
Page 16: Root Words Worksheet: "After reading each root and its meaning, write a word that contains the root."
Page 17: Numerical Prefix Challenge: "Many prefixes represent numbers to show how many there is of something. Using a word with a numerical prefix, see if you can figure out the definitions below."
