Grades 6-12
Although this activity
is one lesson in my The Crucible (Arthur Miller) Unit Plan, here is a version
of it that is more generic so teachers can use it with any literature where mob
mentality plays an active role.
This lesson will engage Middle and High School students while they strengthen their critical thinking skills as well as their writing and speaking skills.
Is mob mentality always negative? Can it have a positive impact on society? Is the media a perpetrator or a victim of this type of action? These are just a few of the questions that students will explore individually and as a group during this lesson.
