This resource contains three activities for the 4th grade common core standard 4.MD.3. These measurement and data activities have students discover the formulas for perimeter and area of rectangles. In one of the activities students must draw rectangles on grid paper that meet the requirements of the problem. Then they must use the drawings to make decisions in this real world problem about what dimensions of a rectangle would be best to have the maximum area for a given perimeter. All activities have detailed answer keys. 

Included is an I Have Who Has game on 4.MD.1 and 4.MD.3.
