10 is such an important number. As a first and second grade teacher for 15 years I worked so hard with my students to help them gain a strong sense and understanding of the number 10. When you understand 10, you can understand so many other concepts in math. It is a huge building block for success in mathematics. Now as a parent to a second grader and preschooler I work with my own children in helping them develop their sense of 10. I created this quick and easy game/center/assessment for that purpose.
There are 30 cards with addition problems that are less than 10 or equal to 10.
There are sorting cards for sorting the cards in to two categories: Less than 10 and Equals 10.
