There are three activities included in this resource.

The first activity deals with concepts of angles. The handout is made for guided notetaking as students fill in blanks as concepts are presented. A circular protractor is used for students to give the measure of angles that are drawn.

The second activity involves more practice measuring angles. A 180 degree protractor is used to demonstrate how to measure an angle. Students practice reading a protractor to give the measure of an angle. Students must sketch an angle given its measure.

The third activity deals with the concept that there are 360 degrees in a circle. There is an illustration of a ray with endpoint at the center of the circle. The endpoint remains at the center as the ray rotates around the circle to show one complete rotation is 360 degrees. Challenging problems require the student to understand that the figure itself may not be a circle; however, a rotation around the center of the figure is circular. There will be 360 degrees around the center of the figure. Students must determine the angle formed when a figure (e.g., pentagon, circle, square) is divided into equal sections. This activity also has questions dealing with the additive property of angle measure.
