Grade 3
Four activities are included in this product.
1st Activity: Definitions and examples of various geometric shapes will be presented with interactive notes. Students will identify shapes by drawing circles around shapes using a certain color. Categories of quadrilaterals will be introduced. Students will draw quadrilaterals that may not be classified as a special shape.
2nd Activity: Students will work in groups to classify shapes as quadrilaterals, rhombuses, rectangles, and squares. The shapes which the students will cut out are printed on two pages included in the product.
3rd Activity: I Have - Who Has Game
25 cards on shapes and fractions are included in the game.
4th Activity: Shapes are divided into equal parts and students will identify the fractional part that has been shaded. On one page of the activity two identical figures are given and students must shade different parts to represent a given fraction. This activity reviews concepts of fractions.
