Language Arts Grammar - Parts of Speech Activities "Understand This!"

Students need to understand the parts of a sentence if they are to write strong sentences of their own. 

Part A is a Mad-Libs-based exercise where students must fill in blanks with the required part of speech. 
Part B has students exhibit their understanding of how the parts of speech are used in sentences. They are to select words of their choosing that will form complete sentences following the given patterns.

 

Either part may be used over and over to reinforce the students' understanding of the Parts of Speech and how they work together to form strong sentences. Download these reusable activities from
