FREE LANGUAGE ARTS LESSON - “The Picnic, Starring the Letter A: Balanced Literacy & Math Unit”

This free, 16 page, grades K-2, cross curriculum reading unit consists of a 5 day lesson plan with day to day detailed directions for the teacher to follow, a fun story about two friends going on a picnic, many words within the story beginning with the letter A to tie in with any classroom A week theme, reading comprehension questions, text-to-self connection elements throughout the unit, addition and subtraction activities, science activity, and a fun word scramble puzzle. This is the first of 26 units - each cross curriculum unit will be based on a different letter of the alphabet.
