FREE SCIENCE LESSON - “Planning an Investigation”

by Oddball Science
4th - 7th Grade

A simple and fun explanation of the steps involved in a scientific investigation.
Each step is on a separate slide and can be used on the board for group planning or turned into a student notebook.
You can even laminate it for future use!

There is enough space for the class to write their own initial ideas about your particular experiment. There is a one page summary of all the steps to use as a handout.

The last page shows an example of one the first scientic investigations by James Lind in trying to cure scurvy.
This is quiet a good example to talk about controlled testing and to get the class to conclude if it was acid or Vitamin C which cured scurvy.
This includes questions about each stage of the investigation.
